This was an emailed sent to us by our GP teacher when 90% of the class failed to submit(well 18/22 u do the math) the GP homework. Warning : What you're gonna see is highly dangerous, pls proceed with caution!

Dear 1S1,If you remember (which I am sure you do), today WAS the DATELINE for the ACJC Paper. Obviously datelines are given for a reason. After all, there is no point in setting them. You might ask; why make big deal about it? Let me tell you why:1. I came SPECIALLY TO SCHOOL TODAY TO get your work.2. I take ONE HOUR TO TRAVEL to college (ONE WAY!)3. I WAITED TILL 6 P.M. for you royal highnesses to submit your work (because some of you need to do your PW ; have lunch and do more important stuff like rest).What are some ASSUMPTIONS you have made. I will list 7.1. I have nothing better to do during the holidays than to wait for your work. UNLIKE YOU, I PLAN MY DAYS CAREFULLY.EVERY DAY IS FOR A PURPOSE; TO FULFILL CERTAIN TASKS. If I asked you to hand it in by Tuesday, obviously it's for a reason.Already, the marks for the VJC comprehension is so dismal, I just thought you might yet another chance to practise before your promotional exams in 3 WEEKS TIME! It is an extra piece of work, and you were supposed to do it timed. Hence if you get to do it at home, you might increase your chances of doing even better. Yet, you can't even complete a simple task.2. Nice teachers don't deserve to be treated like human beings.In SRJC, it seems that fear is the modus operandi. I don't quite buy it, but it seems to be true. Look at how many times you have submitted LATE WORK, without so much of an APOLOGY, a whimper or a WORD. Is the EXTENSION OF THE DATELINE YOUR BIRTHRIGHT? Don't you even have some basic courtesy and respect for your teacher? Has the civics and moral education inculcated in you over the past 10 years gone with the wind? I am sure your parents taught you.3. GP REPS. are at your BECK AND CALL .I apologise for the fact that there was a mess up for the ACJC paper. I had no idea. The bookshop printed the papers for the entire cohort and no teacher came to inform me. Hence, couldn't you open your mouths to inform me prior before that? I mean, you took 4 days to discover that? Jack is not there to do all your photocopying for you. Just because he is not as aggressive in chasing you for work, does it mean it becomes HIS RESPONSIBILITY TO DO EVERYTHING FOR YOU? Photocopy, hand in your work too? REMIND YOU?????4. The world revolves around you.You had a chemistry test today. So? You only knew yesterday? So,you can't even stay back to finish your paper today? There's always some excuse like tests, assignments. Work on your time management skills or you will never go far. Excuses like "no time" are superlame. YOu chose this path to take 4 A's. NO one put a gun to your head to.5. Responsibility to study lies in other people's hands. No, never yours.Your parents have complained that the college has not done anything to help you in your dismal GP grades. Have YOU DONE YOUR PART YOURSELF? I take your breaks on Thursday and some of you give me sour faces and complains. It is not as if I fancy doing such "inhumane stuff".It is not my fault if most of the time, you miss your lessons on Monday this year. It is not my fault if you can't catch up fast enough. I am not pleading for a word of thanks here. 6. Your class does not matter to me.If you have this ludicrous idea, wake up! I have had INDIVIDUAL consultations with the rest of my classes during their breaks and lunches. For your class, no, because your schedule is so tight, and I understand that you need to eat. So I scrapped the idea. Did you exercise any iniative on your own ? Still, if I don't see you, all I ask is that you do your work. Is it so darned difficult? I want extra classes with you during your holidays and you grumble. Your exam's in 3 weeks; for goodness sake. I want you to do well, not because my ass is on the line, but because I think any self-respecting student would try to pass the subject.7. You think you are "solid" and have the intellect to flaunt.Excuse me, but if you have noticed, your general knowledge is really quite pathetic. I am not saying this to insult you; but it's really horrifying. When's the last time you read the papers? When's the last time you thought about a current affairs issue? When's the last time you did something intellectual to widen your horizons? (e.g. watch a play, watch a documentary, read a book;).Some of you do have the intellect but you aren't sharing it with the rest of the class.I reiterate: You are the future scholars so to speak; for those who hang onto 4 As and do "S" papers next year. What kind of a scholar are you if you can't even pass your GP?I am not saying that you don't try. You have made improvement...some of you. Yet it is so painful to collect your work. I have to meticulously count for each assignment you hand in and tick off those who submit and those who don't. Isn't that menial, inane and primal? Some of you have the linguistic ability, but write and submit work that does not befit your capabilities. Others write as if to show their great displeasure with life. If you want to go far, if you want to do LAW, MEDICINE, LIFE SCIENCES, then you need to at least pass your GP. You are but a small tadpole in the abyss of competition....aren't you a little bit afraid?Miss Ong
